30 days of luck - day 6

Erin Landells
Saturday, August 01, 2015

Welcome to day 6! A Saturday! Your challenge today is to do something you've never done before!

At the end of the day, reflect on three things that went well today, and why.

If you're keen, post your reflection here - or let me know what your new activity was!

Reflecting on the week, I'd say I've been a good girl! I've noted down and checked off every day's challenge - I haven't completed them all, but I have put a plan in place for each, eg. having coffee with someone I haven't seen for a while... need to make appointment, etc. I've also been writing my reflections on the day everyday, with three things that worked out well. It's been great to do this, and makes you practiced at seeing the upside of things. I think it fits the adage well: 'It's not that happy people are grateful, but rather that grateful people are happy!' This exercise each day has been sharpening this perspective for me, and I'm grateful for it. Not the least because I did hit a rather big disappointment late in the week, and surprisingly I was able to take the perspective that the Universe must have bigger and better plans for me... I would like to remind the Universe that I'm ready & waiting!!

It's so great to hear how you're going, Yvonne! I'm glad the reflections are going so well! I'm glad it gave you a different perspective on your disappointment - I hope you're ok.

The David Bowie exhibition at ACMI is a totally individual experience. Hubby & I met up with old work friends, we were expecting to walk and talk through the exhibition together. Instead, each person is given a guided listening post and head phones. The music & narrative changes according to where you are in the exhibition. So everyone just wandered around on their own. Very different to what I was expecting. The way it's done adds a lot to the exhibition. We all really enjoyed it.

Wow! Sounds like the curators of the exhibition have been very brave! And sounds like their risk paid off!
You've made me think I should go to an exhibition - something I haven't done for years!
Love it!
